What Tools Do I Need to Assemble the Hose Reel Cart?
You’ll need:
- Phillips screwdriver
- 10mm wrench, or monkey wrench
- pliers
I also used:
- 10mm ratchet
- Rubber mallet
- 2 scrap 2×4 pieces
Lock Nuts
All screws that come in the hardware kit having self-locking nuts.
Be sure to install them with the rubber insert facing the outside end of the screw.
Order of Assembly
I assembled mine in this order:
- Reel hub
- Handle
- U frame
- Wheel frame
- Hub and all frame parts
- Install wheels
Hose Connection
Ensure your long hose has a rubber gasket inside its connector.
Connect your long hose to the inside of the hub reel.
I hand tightened mine and did not have a leak.
Be sure not to overtighten if you use a wrench.
Faucet Connection
Unfortunately, the Vevor Hose Reel Cart does not come with a short hose to connect it to your faucet. You will need to supply your own.
Roll Hose onto Reel
I found it easiest to stand in front of the cart and place my foot on the bottom of the frame while rolling the hose onto the reel.
You will need to guide the hose back and forth as you roll.
Do the Wheels Roll Easily?
Even with a 75 ft super duty hose on the reel, I found that it rolled smoothly on both concrete and grass.
It was SUPER easy to turn and easily go in any direction.
I did have to bend down a bit when the reel was tilted backward enough to zero-balance the weight of the hose.
