Black Max Lawnmower: Unbox, Setup, and Unbiased Review
See the Black Max 22″ Self Propelled Lawnmower – from opening the box to cutting the grass.
I got this mower as a replacement to my Toro Recycler as it was the only one that had the same fatures now.
The Black Max features I needed:
- Briggs and Stratton engine – easy to find parts and service myself
- Self propelled – for hills
- Big wheels on the back – for uneven ground
- side discharge – a real one, the Toro no longer has this
- mulching blade – already installed
Setup is easy
I love the ease of the height adjustment.
But that self-propel bar is tough!!! However, the self-propel pace is perfect for me.

Black Max is sold at Walmart and was only available online, not in the store, at the time I purchased.

where can I get front drive wheels from
Lots of places have them since this mower is made by Poulan. Just search for “black max mower parts” and you’ll see several places to get them, including Amazon. You’ll need your mower’s model number to check for compatibility.
