Unbox
We have the basket, a telescoping handle, and a storage bag.
Basket Sizes
This nut gatherer comes in 3 sizes:
- Acorn
- Medium
- Large
I’m using the large, which is listed for pecans and walnuts.
Assembly
Remove the 2 screws from the basket.
You only need to unscrew a little, and then you can pull them out.
The handle has 2 holes drilled all the way through, and a groove on one side.
Unlock the clamp on the end of the telescoping handle near the holes and pull it out a bit.
Insert the handle into the basket and align the holes.
Install the screws while holding the nuts on the other side so they don’t drop out.
You won’t need any tools to do this.
Test on Driveway
No pressure was need at all to pick up intact walnuts. Just roll over them.
A little pressure was needed to gather the nut part of those that were already partially open or crushed.
I was able to gather about 10 nuts in 30 seconds.
It’s easy to dump out the nuts, just turn them toward the opening on one end of the basket.
Test on Grass
I had to add a little more pressure to gather nuts on the grass, as they were laying in soft leaves.
But it was super easy to gather 10-15 in seconds!!
Carrying Bag
You have to take the handle off to put the parts in the supplied bag.
I will very likely just store it in the box once the walnut season has passed.
Honest Review
I LOVE the Zozen Nut Gatherer!!!!!!!!!
It makes collecting the 20 or so nuts that fall daily a quick job.
Now I don’t run over the nuts with my car and stain my driveway further.
And I won’t be turning my ankles on the nuts in the yard anymore either.
